Add Files to an Artifact
The Files tab in the Utility Panel allows you to view, add, and delete file attachments and document references for the selected artifact.
Not all file types may be available. Instance Administrators can specify the types of files that can be uploaded to Blueprint by whitelisting certain uploadable file types in a specific project or instance.
Add an Attachment to an Artifact
File attachments are unique to that artifact, and are used when no other artifacts will require the file that is being attached. Any type of files can be attached.
To attach a file to a selected artifact:
- Click Add Attachment under the Files tab in the Utility Panel if there are no attachments or document references already added to the artifact.Click the Add New menu and select Attachment if there is already an attachment or document reference added to the artifact.
- In your file manager, select the file you want to attach.
- The file is displayed under the Files tab in the Utility Panel.
To open a file, click its download icon (). To delete it, click the delete icon ().
If the attached file is an image, you and other users can preview it by clicking the preview icon ().
Add a Document Reference to an Artifact
Document references are used to link already existing document artifacts. It is useful to create document artifacts that contain important information that other artifacts will need as a reference.
- Click Add Reference under the Files tab in the Utility Panel if there are no attachments or document references already added to the artifact.Click the Add New menu and select Document Reference if there is already an attachment or document reference added to the artifact.
- In the Add Document Reference modal, search for and select the document artifact in the project you want to add a document reference to, and then click OK.
- The document reference is displayed under the Files tab in the Utility Panel.
To download the document, click its download icon ().
To delete the document reference, click the delete icon ().
To navigate to the document artifact that has been referenced, click the document name.
