About Workflows

A Workflow represents one of many different types of processes within your organization.

As a representation of a project, artifacts move through a relevant life cycle, transitioning from one state to the next, until the process has reached an outcome.

When a project and standard artifact types are assigned to a predefined Workflow, those artifact types can be moved through life cycle stages as relevant stakeholders complete them. This ensures sequence, being in sync, and compliance while doing it.

Moreover, you have the ability to introduce automation elements to your Workflow, saving valuable time and effort, by initiating changes based on property updates, or the creation of specific artifacts.

Anytime there is an active Workflow in Blueprint, the project and its artifacts will be read-only in Blueprint. For more information, see the About the Administration Portal article.
