Importing Using GenAI
Overview
When you ‘import using GenAI’ Blueprint extracts requirements from the Word or PDF document, creates them as artifacts and creates traces amongst them. This saves countless hours of copy-and-paste work that many organizations currently do.
More specifically, this feature will:
- Attach the original document for reference as a set of text artifacts in a hierarchy that mimics its table of contents. You can define the type of these textual artifacts.
- Create requirements artifacts extracted from the document with assigned types and store them in folders. You can define the types to be used and assigned, as well as the folders where they should be stored. You also have the option to have an entire document section become a requirement or have Blueprint decompose document sections into multiple requirements.
- Create references from the requirements artifacts back to the document section from which they were extracted. These references appear as citations in the description of the requirement artifact. Optionally, you can specify that traces be created for these references.
- Create traces between the newly created requirement artifacts. You specify trace rules – i.e. which requirement types can be traced trace to other requirement types.
